How do you get on an AMC’s list?

Typically an appraiser gets on an AMC’s list by submitting an application. Sometimes AMCs ask for sample appraisals and/or references from prior clients. Some AMCs don’t require this. If an AMC is looking for appraisers in a certain geographic area, they might actually contact local appraisers and invite them to apply to be on their list. In most cases, however, the appraiser will have to seek out the AMC and ask to be put on their list.
