Kentucky Real Estate Education Requirements

The information below is a summary of the minimum requirements set forth by the Kentucky Real Estate Commission. For a more detailed requirements breakdown, please see the board's site.

Kentucky Real Estate Licensees are required to obtain 6 hours of continuing education every year including 3 hours of a legal topic course.

Continuing education is due on December 31 every year and the license renewal is by March 31 of the following spring.

A 6-hour Kentucky Core Course is required based on the licensee’s date of birth once every 4 years. McKissock is proud to offer this required course

The Kentucky Real Estate Commission requires an electronic signature (in lieu of the required affidavit) upon the start and completion of all courses (except non-credit courses).


Per the Kentucky Commission on Proprietary Education, an enrollment agreement shall be completed and returned to McKissock prior to beginning course work. Note: McKissock cannot issue Kentucky Real Estate credit without a completed enrollment agreement on file. Enrollment agreement documents can be found in the documents section of each course.  This agreement is separate from that of the requirement of an affidavit from the Commission. Online Limitations

Kentucky Real Estate Commission requires a final exam for CE courses and will allow for only TWO attempts on the final exam before requiring the course be retaken. The final exam passing requirement is 75%.

Roster Process: Rosters are submitted via email every Wednesday. During high volume periods, such as near renewal deadlines, they will be submitted daily. **If you need or want the roster submitted earlier than the scheduled date, there is a $10 rush fee for that service.**
