Arizona Real Estate Education Requirements

The information below is a summary of the minimum requirements set forth by the Arizona Department of Real Estate. For a more detailed requirements breakdown, please see the board's site.

Designated Broker or Delegated Associate Broker License:
The Arizona Department of Real Estate requires 30 hours of continuing education every 24 months for Brokers.  Of the 30 hours required for renewal, the designated broker or delegated associate broker licensee must obtain credit hours as indicated in EACH of the following categories:

Mandatory courses:
3hr - Agency Law
3hr - Contract Law
3hr - Broker Management Clinic 1*
3hr - Broker Management Clinic 2*
3hr - Broker Management Clinic 3*
3hr - Real Estate Legal Issues
3hr - Fair Housing
3hr – Disclosure

Plus Additional Elective Categories:
6hrs - Courses in the General Real Estate Category

* At least 9 hours of credit must be of the Broker Management Clinic courses if you are an active status designated broker (which includes self-employed brokers).

The Arizona Real Estate Commission requires all licensees to use the Commission’s online CE recording process to submit CE credit. Licensees are encouraged to submit continuing education credit upon completion of a course rather than waiting until the end of the license cycle.

Online Limitations

The Arizona Department of Real Estate allows a maximum of nine (9) continuing education hours per day (24-hour day). Note that there is no limit on the number of distance learning courses that can be taken for renewal, but no more than 9 hours can be completed per 24 hour period.

Effective 10/29/2010: The Arizona Department of Real Estate requires a timing mechanism for all distance education courses to ensure that courses cannot be completed in less time than the approved credit hours. Please note that your course will time out after 30 minutes of inactivity!
