New Jersey Real Estate Education Requirements

The information below is a summary of the minimum requirements set forth by the New Jersey Real Estate Commission. For a more detailed requirements breakdown, please see the board's site.

The New Jersey Real Estate Commission requires 12 hours of continuing education every 2 years. A minimum of 6 hours must be taken in a core topic. The six shall include at least 2 hours of Ethics. Core Topics include: Agency, Disclosure, Legal Issues, Ethics, Fair Housing, and Rules and Regulations.

A completion will not be visible on the licensee’s PSI account until roughly 24-48 hours AFTER the education provider has uploaded the submission.  

Online Limitations

The New Jersey Real Estate Commission accepts an electronic signature in lieu of the required affidavit be submitted to McKissock upon the start and completion of all courses (except non-credit courses).

Roster Required: yes
Roster Process: Rosters are submitted electronically every Thursday. During high volume periods, such as near renewal deadlines, they will be submitted daily. **If you need or want the roster submitted earlier than the scheduled date, there is a $10 rush fee for that service.**

New Jersey Real Estate: Salesperson Licensed With Real Estate Referral Company

New Jersey Salesperson Licensed with Real Estate Referral Company (formerly known as the Referral Agent) do not need continuing education to renew their license.

They do have the option to change license type from Salesperson Licensed with Real Estate Referral Company (formerly known as the Referral Agent)
