Here's what you need to renew your Texas Appraisal license

The information below is a summary of the minimum requirements set forth by the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB). For a more detailed requirements breakdown, please see the board's site.

Online Info

Texas Appraisers are required to complete 28 continuing education hours every 24 months. Of the 28 hours, 7 hours must be the National USPAP Update course or Equivalent.

*Note: In addition to the 28 hours all appraiser trainees and their supervising appraisers must complete a Board approved Appraiser Trainee/Supervisory Appraiser course before renewing their license. Appraiser trainees and sponsoring appraisers will need to retake and complete an Appraiser Trainee/Supervisory Appraiser course at least once every four years.

Students that have completed an approved Texas Appraiser Trainee/Supervisory Appraiser course (ATSA) should receive a course completion certificate to submit to TALCB by email to documents@talcb.texas.gov. Credit will not be awarded for ATSA course completions submitted on a Roster or Distance Education Reporting Form. Therefore, please submit to documents@talcb.texas.gov.
