How often am I required to take continuing education and RENEW my appraisal license in my state?

The renewal frequency varies from state to state. Some states require that licenses be renewed every year and other states require 2, 3 or even 4 years. To review the general requirements find your state in the table below.

Uniform states require that all licensees renew their licenses at the same time.
Variable states require licensees to renew their licenses on the anniversary of their original licensure date.

Most states allow 100% of required CE to be taken online EXCEPT:

Alaska – allow up to 1/2 (14 hours) online
Arkansas – USPAP restrictricted online – classroom ONLY
Delaware – Allow up to 1/2 (14 hours) online
New Hampshire – Allow up to 1/2 (14 hours) online
Oklahoma – Allows up to 1/2 (21 hours) online
Tennessee – Allow up to 1/2 (14 hours) online; cannot take repeat courses w/in 5 years (except USPAP)
