According to the Board, you are considered a “newly licensed property manager” until your second renewal cycle has been completed. During this time, the renewal requirements for your 1st and 2nd renewal will vary. The information below pertains to individuals licensed on or after July 22, 2017. Please read carefully.

Newly Licensed Property Managers are required to complete 4hrs in Trust Accounts before the first renewal.

24.210.829 NEW LICENSEE MANDATORY CONTINUING EDUCATION -- PROPERTY MANAGER. All new property management licensees are required to complete 12 hours of property management continuing education by the second renewal date, following their original license issue date. Four of the hours must consist of courses in property management trust accounts and must be taken before the first renewal date following original issuance of the license. New Licensee Property Managers are required to complete the remaining 8hrs of property management continuing education before the second renewal date.

In the event there is no trust account course offered by the end of the licensing year, a new licensee must complete the course when the class is next offered, unless the time for taking the course is extended for good cause at the board's discretion.

** MANDATORY PROPERTY MANAGER TRUST ACCOUNT COURSE **
The Board of Realty Regulation has adopted a new Administrative Rule requiring all active property manager licensees, who were licensed prior to September 2, 2015, to complete a 4-hour property management trust account course prior to July 22, 2018. Failure to do so will result in an administrative suspension of your license. This 4-hour course can be included in the required 12 hours of continuing education credits. Any individual who was initially licensed between September 2, 2015, and July 21, 2017 is grandfathered and must complete only 2 hours of property management trust accounting by their second renewal date. Licensees must also take an additional 10 hours of CE by the second renewal date (12 total).
